Mga madalas itanong
- How much proof of funds do I need for Express Entry in 2026?
- By family size (IRCC, 50% of LICO, updated July 2025): 1 person $15,263, 2 people $19,007, 4 people $28,362, and $4,112 added for each person beyond 7. Count yourself, your spouse/partner, and all dependent children — even if they are not coming with you or are already Canadian citizens/PRs.
- Who is exempt from the Express Entry proof of funds requirement?
- You do NOT need to show settlement funds if you are applying through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), or if you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer — even under FSW or FST. Everyone else in the Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades programs must show the funds.
- What counts as acceptable proof of funds?
- Official letters from your financial institutions, on their letterhead, listing account numbers, balances, and the date opened. The money must be readily available, liquid, free of debt, and cannot be borrowed. Screenshots, personal statements, equity in property, or someone else's account are not accepted.
- Why should I keep more than the minimum?
- Because exchange rates move daily and your funds are checked again at the end of processing, keep a buffer of about $1,000–$2,000 CAD above the minimum so a currency dip doesn't drop you below the line — a top refusal reason.
